This book was rather short and easy to read but I did not enjoy it. I just kind of read it to get it out of the way and off my B&N Library. The lead character is a very downcast individual who doesn't receive encouragement or love from his family or his fellow soldiers. He's rather pitiful. But it does have a happy ending.
